Electrical Fault Finding & Domestic Repair Guide
Methodical electrical fault finding for homes and businesses. We assess the symptoms, agree the diagnostic scope and explain findings before further repairs are authorised.
Choose the Right Help for Your Fault
Fire, smoke, electric shock injury or immediate danger: move to safety and call 999. Do not wait for Entigen, WhatsApp or an online triage response. Do not approach hot, wet, sparking or damaged electrical equipment.
Burning smell, heat, repeated tripping or water near electrics: stop using affected equipment and keep clear. Only switch off the supply if the switch can be reached safely without approaching the hazard. Do not remove covers, touch wiring or repeatedly reset protection. Arrange urgent professional help.
Power cut or supply problem
For a suspected network power cut or incoming-supply fault, call 105. A loss of power does not prove wiring is safe. For an internal fault, ask an electrician to assess it.
Contact Entigen
Planned work and normal office hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm. Call 01536 645661 for urgent availability. WhatsApp Entigen or send a nonurgent enquiry; messages may not be read immediately.
Out-of-hours triage
The 24/7 Zapline triage route helps record an enquiry. It does not confirm an electrician is available. Attendance, timing, diagnostic charges and any further work must be agreed with staff.
From a safe position, tell us your postcode, what has stopped working, when it began and any danger signs. Photos are optional: never approach a hazard or remove a cover to take one. Share only relevant images; avoid people, documents and private information.
The website assistant records details for staff review. It cannot diagnose a fault, issue prices, reserve an appointment or dispatch an electrician.
Electrical Fault Diagnosis & Repairs for Homes & Businesses
Electrical faults can develop gradually or appear suddenly. Burning smells, heat, sparking and water near electrics need urgent attention. An on-site assessment is needed to establish the cause and the work required.
Testing helps distinguish an appliance problem, damaged wiring, a protective-device issue or a supply fault. A rewire is not assumed to be necessary, and neither a quick repair nor a fixed diagnosis time can be promised before assessment.
Don't see your exact fault listed? Most issues fall into one of the categories above, including heating control wiring faults where heating or hot water is not responding correctly. If unsure, contact us and we'll tell you straight whether it's a quick fix or something bigger.
